Chumash the Game

Chumash, which is rooted down in California, is a modified 3 on 3 lacrosse game run in a much smaller area with a specialized net and no goalie. Game play is similar to half-court basketball, it flows well with and without a ref, and pace can be kept even with a low number of players, as can be seen in this video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jUEbAotY52w).

In contrast to box and field lacrosse, this version of the game does not require a lot of space, but still forces players to work the inside bettering their stick skills, ball movement and spacial awareness. We have run successful games on fields outside as well as inside a school gym. Although it can be played full contact, we often play with stick and bump checks.
